Leg length -the shortest distance from the flat surface of one of the parts to be welded to the boundary of the fillet weld on the surface of the second part to be welded

Position the welding gauge on the surface of the product and making sure that you are placing it close to the fillet seam as illustrated.
Adjust the fillet arm or the top High-Lo arm until it makes contact with the surface of the test object.
Take the readings of the desired parameter from either of the scales K or H, respectively
